Blessing of St. Therese of Lisieux

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are
exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite
possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you
have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you
are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your
bones, and allow your soul the
freedom to sing, dance, praise
and love.

It is there for each and every one
of us.

Mission & Evangelization
“Mission” goes to the heart of our purpose as Church and as a Catholic Parish Community. That mission, according to the Second Vatican Council, extends to the whole human family. It is the task of bringing and making Jesus present to the entire world – a task ultimately directed outward from the Church to all of humankind.

In assessing the “signs of the time”, the Council emphasizes that the present age calls for a real social and cultural trans-formation involving changes in attitudes, morals and religious awareness. [Gaudium et Spes 4]

The apostolate of the Church and each of its members aims primarily at announcing to the world, by word and action, the message of Christ. [Decree of Apostolate of the Laity 6]

Pope Francis, in his document, “The Joy of the Gospel”, emphasizes that each of us is called to be an “evangelizing disciple”. We are evangelizers when we reveal Christ to others by our words and actions. We are disciples when we ourselves are learning, day by day, to know and follow Christ more completely. We can evangelize only to the extent that we are engaged seriously in the work of being and becoming good disciples.
