Blessing of St. Therese of Lisieux

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are
exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite
possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you
have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you
are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your
bones, and allow your soul the
freedom to sing, dance, praise
and love.

It is there for each and every one
of us.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

St. Vincent de Paul Society is a group of parishioners who show Christ’s concern for the needy of our parish territory by distributing food and other items throughout the year.

The Food Pantry is located in the basement of the Parish Office and can be accessed by the garage doors on Little Flower Ave. It is open on Tuesdays, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. and serves residents who live in the Little Flower Parish boundaries. (Click the link for a summary of the parish boundaries: Parish Boundaries.pdf ) A photo ID and current proof of address and Social Security cards for children under 18 are required. The services provided by the Food Pantry are: food, personal hygiene products. household cleaners, diapers when available and clothing vouchers for the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift shops. For additional help with rent or utilities, call the Hamilton County Community Action Agency at 569-1840 or the United Appeal 24 hour hotline at 211.

Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Office basement and are open to all parishioners.

Christmas Sharing Wreaths - As part of the service provided our community by the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Christmas wreaths are placed near each church door during the first week of the Advent season. Each wreath contains gift tags indicating various needs. Parishioners select tags and provide the needed gifts of clothing, toys, or food.
Little Flower's St. Vincent de Paul Conference

Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference was recently highlighted in the SVdP newsletter:

The Little Flower Conference, located in the Mt. Airy neighborhood, operates a thriving food pantry. Some of the friendly touches they've added to their pantry are a free library of books for both children and adults and a coupon pantry, where neighbors can take current manufacturers coupons in order to stretch their grocery dollar. This Conference is very tightly knit and meets every week.

Be born in us, be born in our world. This is the response that was said at Mass during Advent. Because of the generosity of Little Flower parishioners to the Saint Vincent de Paul Christmas program, Christ’s love was born to 101 families, women and their children at Bethany House and women deciding to continue their pregnancy.
One sign of a vibrant parish community is that this continuous rebirth of God’s love is passed down to future generations. This was seen time and again during the holidays at SVDP. We at Little Flower have much to be proud of in our children.
The students at Our Lady of Grace donated over 1000 items to our pantry to help fill our shelves during this busy season. The kindergarten class collected mittens. OLG 6th graders collected and donated money. Confirmation candidates performed service hours at the pantry. Waldorf School donated boxes of groceries. Seven year old Danica Gorlewski, had a birthday party and instead of receiving gifts, had her friends bring much needed personal care items to her grandma’s pantry. Three first graders from Mary Queen of Heaven gave up a Sunday afternoon to help wrap coloring books and crayons to include with the gifts for the younger children. Students volunteered their strong backs to carry gifts downstairs. Others made countless trips collecting gifts from the parking lot.
On behalf of our clients, thank you for your generosity and your prayers. Thank you also for sharing your faith and the gospel message with our children.
