Eucharistic Adoration Every First Friday

Have you wanted to deepen your relationship with our Lord? Consider spending some time with Jesus in adoration, every First Friday of the month, after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Although the Eucharist appears to be simple bread and wine, it is actually the “source and summit” of the Christian life. The truth and beauty of Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist comes from its origins in Sacred Scripture to its profound role in the life of the Church and its members.

Please consider joining us for a Holy Hour of Exposition, quiet prayer, Benediction and Reposition every First Friday.

Little Flower's St. Vincent de Paul Conference

Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference was recently highlighted in the SVdP newsletter:

The Little Flower Conference, located in the Mt. Airy neighborhood, operates a thriving food pantry. Some of the friendly touches they've added to their pantry are a free library of books for both children and adults and a coupon pantry, where neighbors can take current manufacturers coupons in order to stretch their grocery dollar. This Conference is very tightly knit and meets every week.

Four members of Little Flower Parish recently returned from an 11-day visit to Madagascar. They visited 10 Divine Providence convents and met with 53 of the 114 Sisters to renew our covenant of friendship and solidarity. The Sisters were most gracious hosts and helped us understand their work among the Madagascar's poor and uneducated, especially in the northern bush country. The Sisters eagerly embraced the covenant renewal and pledged their support and prayers, as did we. The group logged over 20,000 air miles, nearly 50 hours in the air and another 51 hours over dusty and bumpy roads. We learned from the Sisters that they take their name seriously! They really do trust that Divine Providence will provide what they need to serve the poor. Remember to pray for the Sisters during your daily prayers, weekend Masses, and especially every Thursday. Our mission group has designated Thursday as our day of prayer for the people of Madagascar. We invite all to help us with your prayers for the Sisters as they continue their work in building the Kingdom of God through Christ.

Everyone had a good time at our parish potluck and sing-along on June 10.

Our Vision and Mission

Vision Statement:
St. Therese Little Flower Parish is the sacramental presence of Jesus . . . the mind and heart, the hands and feet, the words and deeds . . . the incarnate and living Body of Christ for our own place and time.

Mission Statement:
We are a community of evangelizing disciples being transformed by the Gospel in order to transform our parish, our neighborhood and our world.

We will do this by cultivating faith formation, participating in spirit-filled worship, fostering stewardship, and reaching out in the name of Jesus to those in need.

Welcome!

Have you been coming to Mass or other activities at Little Flower, but are not actually a member? Are you concerned that “signing up” will require something of you that you are not yet ready for? For some folks, joining a parish can be a big deal. You don’t know if the community is a good fit for you. Or, you don’t know very many of the people, and would feel more comfortable if there were someone to tell you about what kind of community this is and how to fit in.

Do any of these realities describe your questions about becoming more invested in Little Flower Parish? If you would like to talk with someone about becoming a member, but don’t want to be pressured if it doesn’t feel right for you, contact the Parish Office at 541-5560 or parishoffice@littleflower-church.org.
