Blessing of St. Therese of Lisieux

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are
exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite
possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you
have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you
are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your
bones, and allow your soul the
freedom to sing, dance, praise
and love.

It is there for each and every one
of us.

Music Ministry

Music Ministry - Members of music ministry serve to support the singing participation of the congregation. We also enhance liturgical celebrations with harmonies, instrumental pieces and a cappella choral singing. There are opportunities for cantors, singers and instrumentalists of all ages at our Sunday Masses, funerals, and Holy Day liturgies.

We are re-building our Music Program at St. Thérèse-Little Flower. Please consider attending some rehearsals, even if you have no experience.

Contact the Director of Music at the music area after Mass or email if you have questions. ALL ARE WELCOME- any level of experience.

 All Musicians join with the other musicians as FESTIVAL CHOIR at Christmas and Holy Week liturgies, and other special occasions throughout the year. Also, if you attend different Masses from week to week, you can participate in any ensemble with some preparation.

 Lisieux Choir – Adults (18 and over) - Sings usually at 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass from fall through Corpus Christi. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings in the new Choir Room. Annual social picnic or dinner.

 Thérèse Ensemble - Youth (7-12 grades) - This new Choir/Cantor/Instrumental program encourages musical participation and leadership as young people prepare for adulthood in life and the Church, and seeks to support their high school musical courses/ensembles/activities. Rehearsals on as-needed basis in preparation for selected Liturgies and other special occasions. Annual picnic or other social event.

 Little Flower Singers - Children (2 [reading]-6 grades) - This new Choir/Cantor program encourages musical participation in Liturgy from the earliest age and seeks to complement the young musicians' school music, language, focus, and leadership. Annual picnic or other social event.

 Rose Garden Ensemble – All ages - Serves usually at Sunday 11:00 a.m. Mass from fall through Corpus Christi. Keyboardists, guitarists, wind players, and singers. These musicians also participate in the Christmas and Holy Week liturgies, and as needed for other celebrations. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed.

 Festival Choir - To support the congregation on Major Feast Days, we volunteer to sing at 2 or 3 masses on Christmas, Triduum, and other major feasts of the Church.

 Psalmist - The psalmist leads the assembly in the singing of the Psalm after the First Reading during the Liturgy of the Word. The congregation sings the refrain, and the psalmist sings the verses. The ministry of the psalmist is identical to the ministry of lector except that the Scripture is proclaimed in song. Each psalmist is scheduled two or more times per month as he/she is available. Private practice (with YouTube/other resources) is required, and the Director of Music is available for rehearsal prior, especially for beginning Psalmists.

 Cantor - The cantor sings intonations and verses that the assembly does not sing. For example, the cantor intones the Gospel Acclamation and sings the verse.

 St. Thérèse Brass - While not an official ensemble of our parish, the group is led by a second-generation parishioner, and has served the parish in various ways. Their primary focus is rehearsal and performance (gratis) at area retirement facilities as a way to give back to the elders of our community.
